Copyright Policy
Copyright notices, counter-notices, and repeat infringers.
GambitClip stores the clips our users make from their footage for 30 days, and publishes nothing itself. If you believe a clip stored or processed here infringes your copyright, this page tells you how to reach us, what to include, and what happens next. Most notices are resolved within two business days.
1. Sending a notice
Email hello@gambitclip.com with the subject Copyright notice, or write to our designated agent below. A valid notice contains, in this order:
- Your signature, physical or electronic, as the rights holder or a person authorised to act for them.
- The work you say is infringed, or a representative list if the notice covers several works.
- The material you want removed and where it is: the clip's link or the run and clip identifiers shown in the app, and the account or channel that made it if you know it.
- Your contact details: name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- A good-faith statement that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent or the law.
- An accuracy statement, made under penalty of perjury where that applies, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. If the notice is missing something, we tell you what.
2. What happens after a notice
- We check the notice is complete and, if it is, we disable access to the material promptly, usually within two business days.
- We tell the account holder what was removed and why, send them a copy of the notice, and explain how to file a counter-notice.
- We confirm to you what we did.
3. Counter-notice
If your clip was removed and you believe that was a mistake, for example because you own the footage, you have permission, or the material was misidentified, email hello@gambitclip.com with the subject Counter-notice and include:
- Your signature, physical or electronic.
- The material that was removed and where it was.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, postal address and telephone number.
- Consent to jurisdiction: if you are in the United States, of the federal district court for your address; if you are outside it, of any judicial district where we may be found, and of the courts of Sweden. And a statement that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the notice.
We forward your counter-notice to the person who filed the notice. If they do not tell us within 10 business days that they have started court proceedings against you, we restore the material within 14 business days of receiving your counter-notice. If they do, the material stays down until the matter is resolved. Knowingly misrepresenting that material was removed by mistake can make you liable for damages.
4. Repeat infringers
We close the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright. Two valid notices that stand after the counter-notice period, within 12 months, count as repeated; a single egregious case can be enough.
5. Trademark complaints
If a clip, title or account uses your trademark in a way that misleads viewers about who made it or who endorses it, email hello@gambitclip.com with the subject Trademark complaint, the registration details, the material, and why it is misleading. Use of a name to describe or discuss the thing it names is not infringement, and we do not act on such complaints.
